Centurion Movie by Neil Marshall

Director Neil Marshall has penned the script of Centurion and is now helming its production. Centurion is British-set sword and sandals thriller, set during the Roman invasion of Britain in AD 117. The movie is starring Michael Fassbender, Dominic West and Olga Kurylenko. There is no official release date yet as filming is under work.
Roman coins in use in Britain during the EmpirePlot:
"The British-set sword and sandals thriller, set during the Roman invasion of Britain in AD 117, details the story of Quintus Dias, sole survivor of a Pictish raid on a Roman frontier fort, who marches north with General Virilus' legendary Ninth Legion, under orders to wipe the Picts from the face of the earth and destroy their leader Gorlacon."

Centurion was written originally by director Neil Marshall under the working title Ninth Legion. Historically, the Ninth Legion marched into Scotland from Hadrian's Wall with over 4,000 men and disappeared. Historians dispute the fate of the legion; some believe they were disbanded, while others believe they were massacred in Germania years later. Marshall said of his take of the legend:

"It's not meant to be historically perfect. I'm picking up on a legend and exploring it... it's an action thriller."

Olga Kurylenko - Centurion movie

Olga Kurylenko introduces her role in Centurion:

Olga Kurylenko
"Etain is quite furious. Because one sense is not there – she can’t speak – all the others are more developed. She sees very well and hears very well: she is an animal!"
Olga Kurylenko

If Neil Marshall really use the historical setting of the story: action and adventure would reach a new dimension if he works on this. His last movie, Doomsday, was too much focusing on action, the plot being rather thin... Hope he will perfect his art with Centurion.

Anyway, impatient to see more from the movie Centurion!
